Job Description :

Construction Works for power to new cloud storage facility Grangecastle 110kV, Profile Park – These works involved the Installation of over 3 kilometers of service ducting and the reconstruction of carriageway, this necessitated the complete removal of half carriagway width up to 2.5m in depth. Full carraigeway build up over 3km in lenght. All works carried out within 12 weeks of start date. This necessitated multiple crews and a workforce of 35 personnel. The program was constrained due to delays in planning, but as the project was of strategic importance this short time frame was a project requirement.

Richard Nolan carried out the role of project managers, PSCS, Traffic management designers.

Area of carraigeway construction 10,900 m2. Significant Traffic Management was required to maintain access to large multi national businesses allowing for high volume of shift workers. Diversions in place as works impacted on commuter routes. Due to the nature of plant in the area forensic site investigations were carried out by Richard Nolan Civil Engineering to identify all underground plant and Method Statements were generated around this data. The project was carried out in an extremely unyielding timeframe,  Richard Nolan Civil Engineering revised the original tender programme and accelerated the works to complete the project 3 weeks ahead of what was originally envisaged. The works were carried out in the vicinity of large multinationals with strategic services, water power, data lines etc, Microsoft, Pfizer and Cuisine de France which required access at all times. Our environmental approach was tailored to take into account the requirement of Pfizer.  High Detail asbuilt drawings were developed and handed over. Liasion and planning were central to the delivery of this project. South Dublin County Council Roads Construction division were involved due to the large quantity of roadway being reconstructed. Multiple crews were utilised and production was systematic and rolling.

Liaison with 3rd Parties – Multinational & Pharmaceutical businesses, SDCC, Dublin Bus, An Garda Siochanna. There was 3000 employees working at the Pfizer facility, these had to be managed throughout the construction of the project, constant liaison was required and immediate response necessary to any concerns raised. Richard Nolan Civil Engineering ltd designed, implemented and maintained the traffic management for this project which included dual carraigway closeure, contraflow systems, temporary junction realigement and temporary diversions
